Important information for Tasmanians with suspected hay fever!Symptoms such as a runny, itchy or blocked nose, sneezing, watery or itchy eyes and a cough could be hay fever. There is also the possibility that these symptoms could be COVID-19.Don’t assume that you have hay fever, even if your symptoms are mild. Call the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738, and arrange to get tested for COVID-19.If the test is negative and your GP believes you are experiencing hay fever, you should talk to your GP about how to manage your symptoms and get a medical certificate to allow you to attend work or school as normal. If your symptoms get worse or change during the hay fever season, please contact your GP as you may need to be tested for COVID-19 again.Even though meeting these requirements may feel a little frustrating, know that these measures will make a big difference to all Tasmanians. This will continue to give us the best chance of quickly identifying any new cases of COVID-19.For more information visitwww.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/keeping-yourself-safe/testing-for-covid19-faqs ...

*Patients with Respiratory Symptoms*We've had a number of patients presenting to our clinics with respiratory symptoms, having not declared that they have these symptoms when booking their appointment either online or through our reception team. Please note that if you have respiratory symptoms you will be asked to have a telehealth appointment in the first instance, with a follow up appointment provided face to face if required and following a negative Covid test. All patients are requested to wait in their car (where possible) prior to their appointment and your Dr will call you when it's time to come in.We have had these processes in place for quite some time now, and while it can appear tiresome, we follow these processes to protect our patients, staff and doctors. Patients who do not comply with these processes, are rude and/or abusive to our team members, or blatantly lie about their symptoms to get an appointment, please note that this behaviour will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave the practice. To the patients that have complied with our processes in the past, we thank you, and thank you for treating our teams with kindness and respect. ...
